Disconnected

Wow talk about bad timing….

Last night at about 10:00 PM, I was going to login into my email account when my browser gave me “service unavailable” screen . I was really curious what’s going on so I decided to ping the website and I didn’t get any reply nor did any other website.

I know it’s not my computer’s problem because I can still access the router so I decided to check out the status and I noticed that the IP address at the WAN was 0.0.0.0…

…oh that’s beautiful. So I attempted to renew the IP address, but it keept giving me a time out so I rebooted the router…no luck. Last, I restarted both the router and the DSL modem…take a guess at what happen after….nothing.

I concluded that this is a problem with my ISP, but ,unfortunately, it was already near midnight so I decided to go directly to sleep. Next day I got back on my computer and, ta-da, got a new IP address for the WAN and was back online.

This wasn’t the first time that I got disconnected. The last time I got disconnected was last year and the second to last time was junior year in high school and then another incident happened Freshmen year in high school; during that time I was disconnected every hour. As you can see, I have a long and depressing history with my ISP, but I remained loyal to it for more than five years so I hope something good comes out of that because if there isn’t…..
